Color Outside the Straight Lines

Meet Kevin Wesley. The future of Mopar® racing is in good hands.

The recent focus for Mopar® in motorsports has been NHRA and drag racing in general. But one driver and his team have found non-straight line challenges to pursue with their Dodge Challengers. Meet Kevin Wesley and his plans for 2019 while flying the Dodge and Mopar flag.

Kevin has been competing in a variety of road racing series since 1993. From SCCA Pro Rally to One Lap of America to Pikes Peak to Gridlife, Kevin has proven his salt in a variety of road car-based racecars throughout his eclectic career. In fact, within the last five years, Kevin has been driving a number of Dodge Challenger, Dodge Viper and FIAT® Abarth vehicles as part of a project with SRT® in an effort to track test their road cars in different racing scenarios, including competition.

For 2019, Kevin has been finalizing his racing plans. “I am very excited to begin this 2019 racing season,” said Wesley. “This year, we have been able to put together a nice program that is an evolution of my recent Dodge programs. I am looking forward to returning to Pikes Peak with one Dodge Challenger and one Dodge Charger to take on this singular motorsports challenge that has occurred for more than 100 years now. We have really worked hard to take the Challenger and Charger, then develop them to attack this fast, twisty mountain climb event.”

Wesley and his team will be campaigning one Dodge Challenger and one Dodge Charger in Gridlife, Pikes Peak and the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). They will be using both the Gridlife and NASA series with their more traditional road course racing venues to test throughout 2019. The spec on each vehicle is different. Kevin’s car is a 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye that will have a modified suspension, brake kit and carbon body pieces. His second car will be driven by longtime professional driver Randy Pobst. It’s a 2019 Charger Scat Pak Widebody that will have a modified suspension and brake package.
