2/COOL

Charges_Challengers

The 1970 Challenger T/A and 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona models aren’t just two iconic muscle cars with a very high cool factor. They helped define an era. To the muscle car community, the two classics are among the most collectable cars on the planet. Only 2,399 T/As were made in 1970, and a mere 501 Daytonas crossed a showroom floor.

Now, Dodge is rolling back the clock with a pair of performance-enhanced, heritage-inspired models that may well be the collector cars of the future. Introducing the 2017 Challenger T/A and the Dodge Charger Daytona. These beauties will show the competition how to be cool, and hot, all at the same time.

HISTORY REPEATS T/A

ChallengersThe new Challenger T/A starts with the standard content of the 375-horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI® powered Challenger R/T model and adds a whole lot more. If you thought one eyeball Air-Catcher was cool on SRT® Hellcat models, the T/A boasts two Air-Catcher headlamps with LED-illuminated T/A logos. An NACA ducted hood feeds a modified SRT Hellcat air box with Mopar® conical filter, to get the most out of true air induction through these two signature fresh-air sources.

The new T/A will sound as good as it looks, too! Thanks to an all-new 2.75-inch, electronically controlled active performance exhaust system that will help the HEMI engines breathe easier. The good looks part is enhanced by 1-inch-wider, 20-inch x 9-inch Mopar lightweight forged-aluminum wheels finished in Hyper Black II.

The Super Track Pak highlights a full complement of race-bred chassis upgrades, including a 0.5-inch lowered suspension, high-performance Bilstein shock absorbers, performance brake linings, three-mode electronic stability control (ESC) calibration with “full off” and high-performance Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.

A Tremec six-speed manual transmission is standard, while the innovative TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission is available for those who are looking for a more passive drive experience. Sport mode with paddle shifters allows for spirited drives when the urge strikes.

A Satin Black painted hood and front fascia, roof and deck-lid graphics paired to the T/A bodyside stripes give it that authentic, vintage T/A look and feel. New wheel center caps featuring the Dodge stripes, “Challenger” script grille badge, Satin Black fuel-filler door with heritage “FUEL” lettering and black deck-lid spoiler with a Challenger T/A badge are included.

To complete the package, factory-installed hood pins are available, along with all-new and limited-production Green Go and Yellow Jacket High-impact Paint (HIP).

The interior carries the retro feel with unique interior bezels, performance seats with signature Houndstooth cloth inserts and a 1971-inspired “tic-toc tach” gauge cluster that takes you back.

CHALLENGER T/A PLUS

The 2017 Challenger T/A Plus model gives you all that, plus heated and ventilated leather performance seats in Black with Tungsten accent stitching and embroidered “T/A” logo. An all-new fourth-generation Uconnect® 8.4 system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integrations, gives faster startup time, enhanced processing power, vivid imagery, plus higher resolution and sharper graphics.

Expanding on the Super Track Pak’s capability, the Challenger T/A Plus adds a shortcut button to the Dodge Performance Pages embedded in the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen, which provides visible performance information, such as a programmable shift light indicator, reaction time, 0-60 times, G-force indicator and lap times in the 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) customizable cluster display.

CHALLENGER T/A 392

The new Challenger T/A 392 also ups the ante with a 6.4L HEMI engine (392 cu. in.) offering best-in-classHEMI_5-7L_V8 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. The “392” delivers up to 113 more horsepower and a 65 lb.-ft. leap in torque compared with the 5.7-liter Challenger T/A models, representing more than a 30 percent jump in horsepower and 18 percent jump in torque.

The coupe’s best-in-class power enables it to turn mid 4-second 0-60 mph times and low 12-second quarter mile times.

The vehicle also features ultra-high-performance Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes with vented rotors, unique front suspension geometry, all-new 20-inch x 9.5-inch forged aluminum wheels finished in Low Gloss Black, P275/40ZR20 Pirelli three-season performance tires, “392” fender decals, 180-mph primary speedometer, electronically controlled active performance exhaust system and 220-amp alternator.
