The Mopar® Sportsman dinner at this year’s U.S. Nationals is sure to be a star-studded gathering of Mopar racers, enthusiasts, engineers and Mopar brand ambassadors.
There’s not a more legendary stop on the NHRA schedule than the U.S. Nationals. It’s a race so big that it spreads out over six days at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, attracting hundreds of racers. The biggest gathering of Sportsman racers also presents the Mopar® brand a gift-wrapped opportunity for recognizing its most passionate brand ambassadors.
The Mopar Sportsman dinner, scheduled for Sept. 3 during U.S. Nationals week, will honor the legions of Sportsman racers who hit the strip with Mopar power under the hood. In addition to food and drink, Mopar Sportsman dinner attendees will be entered to win special Mopar prizes, participate in technical seminars and mingle with other Mopar racers, past and present, plus FCA US LLC engineers. Mopar race cars, including the new Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, will be on display.
In addition, the Mopar HEMI® Challenge, scheduled for September 3-4, will celebrate its 15th season of pitting 1968 HEMI engine-powered Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda vehicles (the original Mopar package cars) in quarter-mile action. The winner will take home a $15,000 first place award and the 42.6-lb. HEMI Challenge trophy. A Mopar “Top Eliminator” award winner will also be chosen from among Mopar Sportsman in the Indy pits. The award is given in recognition of skilled Mopar enthusiasts and their restyled, accessorized or performance-enhanced vehicles.
