Three Strong Brands

Now There Are Three Chrysler Group LLC Engineering-Approved Engine Lubricant Brands To Meet The Demands Of Your Customers And The Needs Of Their Vehicles—Mopar®, Pennzoil® And Shell Rotella®!

Mopar® is an icon American brand, readily recognized by automotive technicians and enthusiasts alike. Established in 1937, the popularity of Mopar extends from its reputation for quality and reliability. Today the Mopar brand has grown to include original equipment parts, replacement parts, accessories and high-performance parts. For generations of vehicle owners, Mopar represents Authentic Performance – the kind that can be counted on, mile after mile.

A part of Shell Lubricants, Pennzoil® is the engine oil brand recalled first by more consumers than any other brand.* The Pennzoil brand is supported by extensive national media and promotions, including TV, print and online advertising. It’s no wonder – Pennzoil is America’s No. 1 brand of motor oil in the U.S.**

For over 30 years, Shell Rotella® heavy-duty engine oils have been providing excellent performance and protection that customers demand. With a deep-seated knowledge of the operation and lubrication needs of heavy-duty engines, scientists and engineers have developed Shell Rotella® formulations built on technology that adapts chemically and physically to the changing conditions within the engine. That’s why Shell Rotella® is the No. 1 heavy-duty engine oil among owner/operators in America.

CHRYSLER ENGINEERING APPROVAL—PENNZOIL FLEET TEST

Shell Lubricants has been working closely with Chrysler Engineering for the last three years, developing factory-fill and service-fill engine oils.

Pennzoil engine oils are formulated to meet or exceed American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications and Chrysler Material Standards (MS). In addition to the industry and standard OEM testing, Chrysler Engineering approval required fleet-testing in Las Vegas for two years under very hot ambient conditions with extended drain intervals. After the Dodge Charger test vehicles accumulated 100,000 miles, the engines were removed and shipped to Michigan for a complete teardown and inspection. Only after critical components had undergone this rigorous inspection did Pennzoil motor oils receive Chrysler Engineering approval.

It’s also worth noting that SRT® vehicles using Pennzoil Ultra™ Euro SAE 5W-40 were subjected to a different set of engineering tests to demonstrate wear protection and durability under high-performance use. As a result of all of these tests, today every dyno or engine test run by Chrysler Engineering is run on Pennzoil engine oil.

MOPAR & PENNZOIL CONVENTIONAL ENGINE OILS

Mopar MaxPro™ conventional engine oil is formulated to meet or exceed Chrysler MS-6395 standard, and has been tested and demonstrates a high level of durability and protection for the wide range of Chrysler vehicles. Mopar MaxPro™ is ideal for customers who have a strong affinity to the Mopar brand.

Pennzoil engine oil with Active Cleansing Agents™ cleans out up to 40 percent of engine sludge in the first oil change, and continues to clean in the next oil change—based on a Severe Sludge Clean-up Test using SAE 5W-30. Pennzoil engine oil provides a strong combination of engine protection and cleansing action to help maintain engine responsiveness.

PREMIUM PENNZOIL® FULL SYNTHETIC ENGINE OILS

Pennzoil Platinum® full synthetic engine oil with superior Active Cleansing Agents™ provides a higher level of cleaning and protection. It can actually clean out engine sludge better than Pennzoil and Mopar conventional oils—based on a Severe Sludge Clean-up Test using SAE 5W-30.

Pennzoil Ultra™ is an advanced, proprietary, ultra-class full synthetic engine oil with Hyper Cleansing Technology.™ As the most technologically advanced engine oil in the Pennzoil portfolio, Pennzoil Ultra™ represents the next generation of engine protection and cleanliness. Pennzoil Ultra™ Euro SAE 5W-40 meets Chrysler MS-10725 and is designed for high-performance SRT vehicles. Pennzoil Ultra™ Euro L SAE 5W-30 meets Chrysler MS-11106 and is designed for 2007 and later Sprinter vans.

SHELL ROTELLA® HEAVY-DUTY ENGINE OILS

Shell Rotella® T Triple Protection® oil delivers triple action to help control wear, deposits and emissions. The oil meets or exceeds API CJ-4 requirements and is designed to perform well in both older and newer engines.

Shell Rotella® T6 Full Synthetic heavy-duty engine oil delivers low emissions, maintenance savings and energy savings. Shell Rotella® T6 has special molecules that resist compression to keep moving parts separated, reducing wear. An anti-wear booster provides extra protection against wear in highly stressed areas of the engine.

API CERTIFICATION

Chrysler Group LLC only recommends the use of API-licensed engine oils for North American vehicles. These oils must be labeled with at least the API service symbol (donut) and in most gasoline applications the API certification mark (starburst) also. Where the starburst is recommended, beware of oils without this symbol; they may lack all the additives needed to keep modern engines and emission systems operating properly. Rest assured, Mopar, Pennzoil and Shell Rotella® brand engine oils meet the requirements of Chrysler Material Standards, are API licensed and meet or exceed minimum performance levels printed on their labels.
