Never Let ‘Em See You Sweat

Think A/C Service Now Before The Heat Is On

Since air conditioning is standard equipment on most vehicles in the U.S. today, if a customer brings their Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram or FIAT® vehicle to you sweating and swearing on that first 85 degree spring day, it’s not likely they're interested in buying an A/C installation kit. It’s more likely his vehicle air conditioning is on the fritz.

Your customer just doesn’t understand what’s wrong. The heater worked all winter and kept him nice and toasty during that extremely cold week. The air conditioner worked all the previous summer and then was given a nice rest while the heater took over. It had all that time off, why doesn’t it work now?

“Well that could be the problem,” you explain patiently. “Nothing lubricating the seals during the winter could have caused the seals to dry out and crack and the refrigerant may have leaked out. From time to time the A/C system needs to be inspected and recharged to bring it back up to maximum efficiency.

“Or it could be something else,” you continue. “A loose or broken drive belt; inoperative compressor or slipping compressor clutch; defective expansion valve; clogged expansion valve; receiver-drier or liquid refrigerant line or; blown fuse. We’ll just have to take a look.”

Remember, whatever the problem, be sure to recommend authentic Mopar® A/C and cooling parts.

Did you know?

Mopar Reman A/C compressors (above) offer a high-quality value alternative to O.E. parts and they adhere to strict Chrysler Group LLC quality and engineering standards. For example, each A/C compressor core that’s destined for remanufacturing is thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Many cores are discarded at this early phase because they don’t meet Mopar standards. Cores that are accepted are completely disassembled, cylinders are gauged and rehoned. And, the shaft bearings are removed and replaced.

Product Features
• Cylinders are gauged and rehoned to O.E. specifications
• Shaft bearings are replaced 100% new, and shaft end play is set to O.E. tolerances
• Piston/swash plate clearances to O.E. specifications
• Reed valves are checked and tested for pressure buildup and vacuum capability
• Compressor is assembled in climate-controlled room to control internal dimension checks,
contamination and rust
• Rotational torque of the pump assembly tested 100%
• Each compressor is functionally tested for pumping capacity
• Each compressor is leak tested to maximum leak rate of one pound refrigerant loss in 80 years with helium mass spectrometer equipment

In addition, every Mopar remanufactured A/C compressor is covered by Mopar’s 12-month/
12,000-mile nationwide warranty.
