How many Mopar® Performance speedometer gauges are available from Mopar?
MM: Mopar offers two performance in-dash speedometers—P/N 77060054 (white dial) and P/N 77060055 (black dial). They’re full sweep, electronic and 3 3/8" in diameter with a range from 0 to 160 mph.
I’m interested in purchasing a Mopar aluminum single-plane intake (4-bbl carb) for my 1991 Dodge Truck with 318. What Mopar intake manifold will work with my standard cylinder heads? How many cylinder head versions are available for my engine from Mopar?
MM: Many ‘91 318 applications would use P/N P4876334; but this intake is intended for high rpm use and most trucks need bottom end torque. We recommend a dual-plane intake (P/N P4876335, shown above) for a truck application. Regarding cylinder heads for your engine, visit Mopar.com and download the new Mopar Performance catalog to see all the various cylinder head configurations—there are plenty to choose from.
I have a question about my 1969 340 Swinger. When I rebuilt the engine I replaced the damper with a Mopar performance part. I found that the timing marks were not on the part, so I want to confirm that I have the correct part. Please send me the available Mopar damper part numbers for 1969 340 engines. Thanks in advance for your help.
MM: You will first need to determine if you have a steel or forged crank. If you have the original this will be easy. A forged crank will use a thin style damper (P/N P5249690). This damper should resemble your original and if you need timing marks you should purchase Mopar Timing Tape kit (P4529070AB). A cast crank damper will be thick and heavy in comparison (P/N P4452816).
About 3 years ago I purchased an unmarked 1987 Dodge Diplomat squad car off an elderly lady. Her deceased husband was a police officer who purchased the car before it was auctioned from his department when he retired. He passed away 2 years later and the car lead a pampered life in her heated garage for 14 years—only driven occasionally. With 73241.0 on the clock she decided to sell the vehicle for $900. I gladly jumped on it. This is my first Mopar and after owning GM vehicles for 18 agonizing years, I can say I will never go back. The vehicle is equipped with a 318 cid engine and the lean-burn 2-bbl carb. What’s the easiest way to swap on a 500 cfm 2-bbl? Do I need an adapter or another intake manifold? Please help this new Mopar fanatic!
MM: We suggest replacing the lean burn ignition and intake with a Mopar electronic ignition (P/N P3690426) and dual-plane intake (P/N P4876335). The ignition swap will make tuning easier. After replacing the intake, you can then switch to a Holley or Edelbrock 500 cfm carb.
I own a 1948 Chrysler Royal. It came to me with a ‘53 Chrysler I-6 mated to a semi-auto M-6. I would like to install an A-518h. There does not seem to be an adapter available. I know that at one time most Chrysler models were available with the M-6 and early TF. Were the bellhousings different or was an adapter available from Chrysler?
MM: Unfortunately we don’t have early detailed information on bellhousings. We suggest you contact the Chrysler Museum at wpchryslermuseum.org. Or, check on the Web—chryslerclub.org, hothemiheads.com and moparts.com are three valuable resources.
I’m looking for information and pictures of aluminum sprint car engines. And, the early iron block effort from Stanton Racing for the Silver Crown series. I have the official Mopar Sprint engine build up manual, but I’m interested in an overview/time line of the complete sprint effort. Is there an archives dept to contact? Is there an index for the archive?
MM: The best way to get detailed info on Sprint Car engines is to go directly to the source that used to build them—Stanton Racing: (859) 885-7354. You can also visit moparts.com and post your inquiry on the message board.
I own a 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T and I’m interested in purchasing the Mopar fuel door, Part No. 82212406. Is this part made of die-cast aluminum?
MM: The Mopar Accessory fuel doors are made from cast aluminum and chrome plated. The Mopar chrome fuel doors retain their shine very well. For more info, visit your local Dodge dealer.
