A 1960 Chrysler 300F Special Gran Turismo convertible stunned the crowd at the November 2010 RM auction of the Milton Robson collection in Georgia when it sold for $437,500. The car is a one-off version of the series of seven 300F specials built for a successful attack on the 1960 Daytona Beach speed trials in which six of the cars competed—the fastest turning a time of 144.927 mph, according to RM Auctions. Like the hardtops, this car features the 400 hp “short ram” 413 and a 4-speed Pont-a-Mousson manual transmission.
