Over the years, the Moab Easter Jeep® Safari has been a great venue and proving ground for Chrysler Group LLC to showcase Jeep and Ram vehicles outfitted with Mopar® parts and accessories—and appraise hard-core off-road enthusiasts reactions to Mopar’s new image vehicles. The 44th annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari held on Mar 27–Apr 4, 2010, at Moab, Utah, was no exception.

Chrysler Group arrived with truckloads of head-turning, Moparized Jeep and Ram vehicles. On hand were both Mopar’s off-road engineering team and the Jeep Product Design Office, dedicated to provide Jeep and Ram customers the best off-road parts and accessories, and the Mopar design team, a team that’s introduced nearly 20 concept vehicles to enthusiast crowds at Moab. Beginning on page 10, we’ll take the wraps off the latest off-road Moparized vehicles, provide thoughts from off-road and design engineers and much more.

What 4-cylinder Mopar-powered vehicle can reach 400 mph? Perhaps a 1,200 horsepower turbocharged Mopar Midget engine in a streamliner. Check out Ron Main and George Poteet’s Speed Demon in our General Feature, on pages 8–9.

Keeping up with sportsman racers, on pages 18–19, see how Irvin Johns and Jeg Coughlin put up impressive numbers in their Mopar Challenger Drag Pak vehicles during the 2010 season-opening NHRA Winternationals held at Pomona, Calif.

Meanwhile, summer’s on its way, and that translates to preparing your customers’ vehicles for long-distance travel. Turn to Mopar Originals, pages 26–31, for the latest lineup of Mopar maintenance parts available for Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles.

And if your customers are interested in upgrading their V-8 engine with a new set of Mopar
high-performance cylinder heads, turn to pages 40–42 for our Tech Insider Larry Shepard’s thoughts oncylinder head design.

From all of us at Mopar Magazine, we hope you enjoy this issue. It’s our goal to keep Mopar Magazine on the cutting edge as the official factory voice of Mopar parts. We value your comments. Let us know what you think by dropping us a note at editor@moparmagazine.com.

Where can we find these custom wheels that were featured on the SEMA Ram R/T? I also think I saw them on the RAM Bianco.
