The build included use of a stock Mopar block, rods and crank.

Dodge pulled the cover off the Viper SRT10® ACR-X on the Mopar® Stage at the 22nd Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, held in Orlando, Fla. on Dec. 10–12, 2009. Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, Dodge Brand, was on hand to reveal the turn-key, non-street legal race car slated to make its on-track debut this summer.

The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X is designed to compete in the Viper Racing League, Sports Car Club of America and National Auto Sport Association events. The Viper SRT10 ACR-X will make its on-track debut in July in a newly developed spec series called the Dodge Viper Cup, which will be sanctioned by the existing Viper Racing League. Each vehicle in the new series must be the new Viper ACR-X.

A contingency program sponsored by Dodge Motorsports and Mopar will pay out more than $200,000 during 2010. Payouts for each race are in cash and Mopar vouchers come as credit toward purchase of Mopar parts and accessories. Additional cash awards will be made to the top-3 finishers in the Dodge Viper Cup. The 2010 champion will win $25,000, second-place will receive $10,000 and third-place will pay $5,000.

In addition to the Viper SRT10 ACR-X, crowds clogged the Mopar exhibits at PRI to catch a glimpse of even more hot Mopar-fueled machines on display, including Team Mopar driver Allen Johnson’s new 2010 NHRA Pro Stock Mopar Dodge Avenger, Don Garlits’ Dodge Challenger Drag Pak by Mopar vehicle, and the Dodge Challenger 1320 Image Vehicle. Garlits provided show attendees with a pleasant surprise, as “Big Daddy” took part in an impromptu autograph session in the Mopar exhibit on the PRI show floor. Johnson, Garlits and Gilles were also among a long line of motorsports celebrities to take part in interviews throughout the weekend on the Mopar Stage with “RaceFanRadio’s” Charlie Brown and “GoRacingTV’s” Mike Collins and Peter Keane.
