As a longtime drag racing photographer and journalist—I’ve said it many times before—quite possibly if I could have any wish in this world it might very well be to have the opportunity to travel back in time with my current and modern day camera equipment.

Last season on a couple of occasions I came about as close as I ever could to that notion, when I was privileged enough to attend both of drag racing’s marquee nostalgia racing events—the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion races held at Bowling Green, Ky., and at Bakersfield, Calif.

For Mopar® drag racing fans that have not yet attended a reunion, these bi-annual attractions need to be put on your “bucket list.” I was simply in awe during both events at both the quality and the quantity of historical Mopar drag cars on hand, all of which have been meticulously restored or recreated.

The events are truly non-stop entertainment both on the drag strip and within the pit area. NHRA Hot Rod Reunions are indeed a “happening” that successfully manages to coagulate drag racing history for both new and old fans to glimpse and enjoy.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words—so let’s capture some of the storied history of Mopar drag racing in a photo collage. Enjoy!
