Year in and year out, you can count on Don Schumacher Racing’s Mopar-powered Funny Car contingent to be right in the middle of the championship battle. The 2010 season is no different, as HEMI®-fueled Dodge Charger R/T drivers Matt Hagan, Ron Capps and Jack Beckman are vying to bring Mopar its first Funny Car title since Gary Scelzi broke through in 2005 to bring home the big trophy for the Mopar brand.

Hagan was second in the point standings at press time, with the sophomore driver breaking through for his first career Funny Car victory at the NHRA Houston event. Hot on his heels was DSR teammate Beckman, third in the points on the strength of his victory in the NHRA Phoenix event and a runner-up outing at St. Louis. Long time Mopar-powered Funny Car pilot Capps clocked in at fourth, his best showing a runner-up finish at the season-opening NHRA Winternationals. R2B2 Racing’s Melanie Troxel had her Dodge Charger at 13th in the point standings.
