HOT NEW BLOCKS, CRATES AND MORE!

Product development is going strong at Mopar®. Mopar Magazine’s cover story highlights one example—the powerful lineup of Mopar performance blocks and crate engines being announced at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas on Nov. 3, 2009.

Whether you’re a professional race car builder or a do-it-yourselfer working on a favorite project vehicle, Mopar factory-engineered performance blocks and crate engines are a great way to power your ride. Check out the all-new aluminum HEMI® Gen III block (on the cover), the big block 572 HEMI Gen II crate engine and the new 4.7L Stroker inline six (based on the Jeep® 4.0L engine) on pages 10–14 of this issue. These are some of the best products ever developed by Mopar performance engineers.

In our feature story, on pages 8–9, we cover Chrysler Group’s recent announcement at the 2009 International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany—“Moparized” versions of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and Jeep Liberty. And check out the innovative new accessory, on pages 26–27—the FLO TV™ Auto Entertainment from Mopar. Chrysler Group LLC is launching this first ever, original equipment accessory for in-vehicle digital television in December 2009.

On the service and repair side of the garage, there’s no shortage of useful information, including tips on how to locate and identify emission control devices, diagnosing emissions and fuel related problems and how to properly seal a Mopar replacement door for late-model Jeep Wranglers. You’ll also want to check out the new features and benefits of Mopar’s technical service information Web site (www.moparrepairconnection.com) on pages 30–31. It’s another way Mopar supports automotive technicians and independent repair shops.

With winter approaching, perhaps you or a friend is considering restoring an A, B or E-Body Mopar. Did you know that Mopar has expanded its line of restoration parts? Read all about it in Tech Insider on pages 40–42 and spread the word.

From all of us at Mopar Magazine, we hope you enjoy this issue and have a safe and happy holiday season.
