As far as Mopar® is concerned, despite economic conditions most economists never dreamed could happen, we’ve continued to keep our wheels turning, continuously developing an extensive and exciting array of parts and accessories. As you can see in this issue, we’re also taking these products to streets, tracks and trails across the U.S. where all Mopar enthusiasts can bear witness that we’re here to stay!
First and foremost, we want to welcome you to our sportsman spotlight. We are honored to dedicate this issue of Mopar Magazine to the heart and soul of the Mopar Nation—Mopar sportsman drag racers. Beginning on page 10, we’ll showcase four grassroots racers and race teams to act as a snapshot of the legions of Mopar-powered sportsman competitors.
In our feature story, on pages 8–9, we recap the 43rd annual Moab Jeep Safari 2009 event at Moab, Utah, were Mopar outfitted a Dodge Ram Quad Cab® and several Jeep vehicles with new performance parts and accessories by Mopar.
Turning to a new product, on page 18, MM showcases the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The all-new Grand Cherokee offers a new unibody chassis with all-independent suspension and more cargo room. Another highlight includes a new standard flex-fuel 3.6L V-6 engine that delivers 280 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 33 percent in horsepower and 11 percent in torque over its predecessor.
