I found it interesting that it takes a Dodge to pull a Super Chevy Show (SCS) trailer. In fact, after I happened to see this one, another Dodge appeared with a SCS trailer in tow.
Mmmm … Dodges pulling Chevies around the country—pretty funny. Can’t you guys find a Duramax to pull your trailers?

Russ, apparently, they know they can count on Dodge Trucks to get their Chevies to the show. —Ed.
Here are a few pictures of my Mopar shop that was inspired from growing up around Chrysler dealership service departments. My dad (Art Mudd) worked as a Chrysler dealership service manager from 1963 to 1990. Today, my shop is my showroom and service department that I feel at home in.

Thanks for sending in the cool pictures of your shop. BTW … nice Charger too! —Ed.
I need a full line Mopar Crate Engine catalog. I’m interested in information about your Mopar SRT® Crate Engines including the SRT10® Viper Crate Engines, SRT8® engines and the SRT8 392 525 hp engines. I need to find out how I can buy all of these engines.

I have a ‘91 Dakota with 221,000 miles that is running great, has a 318 and 4-wheel-drive that still gets 16-17 mpg (mostly city driving). Fortunately, it has required very little major service, which is a good thing because our local dealer will not work on it because it’s too old. In these tough times I understand them wanting to sell new vehicles but as a retiree I hate to spend that kind of money when I have a perfectly good and reliable older Mopar. The only major repairs to this truck have been to rebuild the rear end and transfer case (transfer case because of a badly stretched chain and rear end because of a bad inner axle bearing that decided to self-destruct).

Ray, fortunately many good independent repair facilities offer service and repair for older vehicles. We’re glad to hear your 318 is running great. We often receive high-praise for this engine from Mopar Magazine readers. —Ed
In 1934, Buck Rogers made his worldwide film debut at the Chicago World’s Fair, inspiring a new generation of forward thinkers. It was an era known as the ‘streamlining of America’ where anything with wheels or wings was aerodynamically designed to keep up with a world that was spinning faster. One of the more notable innovations that year was the revolutionary Chrysler Airflow which also made its debut at the World’s Fair – the first modern automobile to offer uni-body construction, wind tunnel tested styling and the ultimate in safety and reliability.
Although a big hit with fair goers, the Airflow was perceived as too futuristic for its time and was only offered in the Chrysler lineup until 1938. Very few survivors exist today making them a valuable favorite amongst classic car admirers.
RM Auctions is offering two rare examples of these remarkable Airflows at the ‘Vintage Motor Cars of Meadow Brook’ event August 1 in Rochester Hills, Michigan – the official kickoff to a month long series of celebrations honoring the great American automobile. Please visit our Web site www.rmauctions.com for the latest updates on this event and others, or contact me for images and interview opportunities at: (519) 437-3052 or (818) 703-2813.

Thanks for the reminder, Terry. The elegant Meadow Brook Hall estate, former home of Matilda Dodge Wilson, is a fantastic setting for this event. This auction will be held in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance. For more information about Meadow Brook Concours, visit www.mbconcours.org. —Ed.
I’ve been a Mopar fan since my dad purchased his 1969 Dodge Charger with a 440 V-8. I can still see the engine in my head. It was beautiful. And, of course, my dad loved to watch the 1969 Dodge Chargers in the television show The Dukes of Hazzard. I read they wrecked an average of one car per episode, with all the jumps they performed.
I have four Mopars today: a 1980 Dodge Diplomat, 1992 Dodge Viper, 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 and a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T. Thank you for putting together a great publication, especially the technical articles. I find the information quite valuable as I perform maintenance and repairs on my vehicles.

Thanks for the note, Steve. There is always room for hard core Mopar enthusiasts in Mopar Magazine. What a great line up of Dodge vehicles. BTW, there are several folks at MM that also enjoyed watching the General Lee make the jumps in the The Dukes of Hazzard. It’s a shame they had to wreck all those Dodge Chargers, though! —Ed.
