Looks like Samuel Hübinette, Team Mopar’s two-time Formula Drift champion, isn’t the only one in his household addicted to speed!
Hübinette’s blushing bride, Stina Hübinette, has been making a name for herself at racetracks across California in the fast-rising motorsport of time attack. Time attack events are akin to the qualifying rounds in other racing series. Following a preliminary warm-up, drivers have three hot laps in which to run the fastest time possible, with the fastest driver earning the win.
Stina competed at the Redline Time Attack event in Fontana, Calif., in late July, steering a Mopar Dodge Neon SRT4.® A Swedish native like her husband (Samuel’s nickname is the “Crazy Swede”), Stina captured the second spot on the podium in the Modified FWD class with an overall best time of 1:56.517, and was the only female driver in the top three of her class.
Guess the old saying is correct—the couple that plays (or in this case races) together, stays together!
