The WW/NBOA (www.wwnboa.org) held its 34th annual meet hard on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minn., June 9–14. Intermittent rain and high gas prices kept some folks away, but those that attended had a great time, reports club member Gary Homstad.

Activities included tours of an historic mansion, a custom car fabrication shop, and Cirrus Design, manufacturer of a personal airplane complete with parachute (www.cirrusdesign.com). Members also had the opportunity to tour the lonely Split Rock Lighthouse, located high above the rocky coast of Lake Superior (www.mnhs.org/places/sites/srl/index.htm for photos and information).

The club was also featured at two car shows at Cloquet Chrysler and Duluth Dodge. Rod Marinuccci brought his 1968 Barracuda race car and fielded lots of questions on how Super Stock racing has changed since 1974. “Local residents really enjoyed seeing the winged cars,” said Homstad. “It’s likely that folks in Minnesota’s north country have never seen so many classic winged cars at one time.”

Founded in 1975, the WW/NBOA is the international club devoted to the research, preservation, restoration and enjoyment of 1969 Dodge Daytonas, 1970 Plymouth SuperBirds and all 1962–1974 B-Body Mopar® vehicles.
