For the past few years, Chrysler has helped kick off the Woodward Dream Cruise with the introduction of a special PT Cruiser model, and 2008 was no exception. As the sun rose over the famed roadway, Chrysler officials took the wraps off the 2009 Chrysler PT Dream Cruiser Series 5—the 14th factory-customized PT Cruiser.
“The 2009 PT Dream Cruiser Series 5 embodies a contemporary theme with a distinctive two-tone exterior and the use of unique exterior and interior materials,” said Larry Lyons, Vice President of Chrysler’s Car and Minivan Product Team.
Only 1,750 of the commemorative models will be produced for the U.S. market.
A contrasting two-tone theme with a Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl painted roof and hoop spoiler distinguish this all-new Cruiser. All-new cross-hatched, upper and lower solid billet aluminum grilles are individually milled and machined for a true sense of customization.
New 17-inch SRT® Design wheels provide an athletic stance while filling up the Cruiser’s uniquely styled large fenders. Chrome body-side trim moldings provide subtle highlights, and the new boldly designed “PT” front-passenger and driver-side badges hammer home this PT’s individuality and street cruising cred.
Power for the 2009 PT Dream Cruiser Series 5 comes courtesy of two fuel-efficient 2.4-liter powertrains that make the cruising easy on Woodward Avenue, Mulholland Drive or anywhere in between.
