Chrysler Expands Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program

Chrysler LLC announced recently a plan to expand its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) program eligibility to all qualifying Chrysler, Jeep®, and Dodge dealers in the U.S. Previously, this program was limited only to the automaker’s Five Star® dealers.

Now, consumers looking for high-quality, pre-owned Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles can find them at many more dealerships across the country.

“We are pleased to announce the extension of our Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program to all qualifying Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge U.S. dealers,” said Darryl Jackson, Chrysler’s Vice President of U.S. Sales. “Opening the program to all our dealers is a win-win situation; dealers can introduce certified shoppers to the best assortment of pre-owned Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles available, and customers are invited to experience the Chrysler LLC family of vehicles at a great value.”

Chrysler launched its national CPOV program as a Five Star dealer exclusive in the spring of 2002. It has since been the fastest growing brand in the certified used vehicle segment.

Reporting 14 consecutive years of industry growth, certified pre-owned vehicle industry sales figures through December 2007 were up two percent calendar-year-to-date, according to sales numbers provided by Autodata. At the same time, Chrysler Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle sales were up five percent, which is the sixth consecutive year Chrysler’s CPOV brand sales growth rate has more than doubled the industry segment.

“Given the considerable success Chrysler’s CPOV initiative has enjoyed already, we have high expectations for continued growth as we expand eligibility to more dealers this year,” said Jackson.
