The Good Sam Club, the world’s largest RV owners’ organization with more than one million member families, announced recipients of its 2008 Welcome Mat awards recently. The awards are aimed at recognizing RV-friendly businesses for their customer service and commitment to the recreation vehicle lifestyle.
The Jeep® brand was on the list.
The Good Sam Club recognized the Jeep brand as the Best Dinghy Vehicle, the ideal vehicle to be towed behind an RV for destination use. In all, 23 Welcome Mat awards were awarded in March at The Rally 2008, where thousands of RVers gathered at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter. As a Welcome Mat winner, the Jeep brand was also honored in the April edition of Highways Magazine, the official publication of The Good Sam Club.
What started out as scribbles on a cocktail napkin reached a production milestone last March. Chrysler LLC’s Connor Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit turned out its 25,000th Dodge Viper. The new owner of the special Viper is none other than Kurt Busch who received keys to the vehicle from Chrysler LLC Chairman and CEO, Bob Nardelli. Busch was chosen in recognition of his racing accomplishments as the top Dodge driver in the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.
“This is one of the biggest thrills I’ve ever experienced, and I’m so grateful to Bob Nardelli and all my friends at Dodge for presenting such a cool gift,” said Busch.
“Reaching this milestone is quite an achievement considering the Dodge Viper SRT10® is a hand-built performance vehicle,” said Nardelli. “This unique manufacturing facility has allowed us to produce a true American legend.”
